Quick tips for annual spring maintenance

Boats and watercraft can last a long time, but they do require a certain amount of maintenance and attention. While many people understand why we winterize our boats, fewer people see the importance of properly commissioning their boats for summer, and performing proper yearly maintenance.

Before you set sail for the first time this spring, let the staff at Coeur Custom help you perform the proper annual services that will keep your boat running smoothly for years to come. Our team has the manufacturer’s replacement schedule, and recommendation for how often each piece in your engine should be replaced or changed out.

You should always make sure the seawater pump impellers are in good shape and change parts as soon as they need replacing. Batteries also need to be charged and load tested prior to starting the season to ensure safe operation.

In general, overall tune-ups and a full diagnostic check are important to do every three to four years, due to the conditions of the northwest.

So as soon as you’re ready to start thinking about summer and your first boat launch, bring your craft to our staff. We’ll keep you safe, and ensure your boat will be running smoothly for years to come.
